About Us

We love people. We love creativity. And we love bringing visions to life. That’s why we do what we do. That’s why we (George and Ashley Weis) started Tekeme Studios in the Fall of 2007. Now, almost five years later we are amazed at how far God has taken this husband and wife duo!

So, here we are, doing what we love to do and making friends along the way. We have had a few bumps in the road … and learned many lessons. We have had to raise our prices over the years in order to provide our clients with the attention they deserve. Our designs are so involved and take so much time that the extremely cheap rates we offered in the past were not giving us enough time to complete projects, so we have raised our prices (still cheaper than many companies out there) and have changed a few of our policies (we actually devote one full week to each project, without the disruption of any other projects on the schedule at the same time) in order to keep our clients happy and served in a way that pleases everyone. Thank you to everyone who has been patient with us during our trial and error years!

That being said, we are here now, working hard to serve our dear clients. Our prices are still reasonable and we have something for every budget range. So, if you need a new design for pretty much anything you can think of, a new Web site, book cover, or a new brand and identity altogether, we’re eager to help. Our services are broad and our creative energy is even broader. We offer a thirty-minute free consultation to all new clients with no obligation to work with us, so you can be assured that we are the right match before paying a dime.

Behind the Screens

I know, you probably find it hard to believe. But yes, it’s true. We do have lives outside of Tekeme. Okay, okay, so we often answer emails lightening fast at all hours of the day (and night!) and we tend toward late hours in front of our screens, but I can assure you we have lives outside of this.

Okay, who’m I trying to convince?

Sigh.

Anyway, ask George to describe his soul in three words and this is the answer you will receive: yearning, pondering, peaceful. He is a learner and a teacher. He loves history (particularly Church History) and he’s a family guy. He’s sensitive, gentle, and the ultimate peace maker.

He’s not just a graphic designer, he’s an artist. Although he would blush and say, “I’m not that good. Really.” But anyone who knows George knows better. He can decorate the house better than his wife. He creates all of the art on the walls. He can draw, paint, sculpt, write and sing music, and he wants to try his hand at carving wood.

Yes, he’s the creative genius in the house, although his kids (we have three under the age of four) are beginning to usurp him with their chocolate milk and spaghettio masterpieces.

Ashley, on the other hand, is what George calls a craftsmanwoman. She may be the left brain of the Tekeme duo, but she loves and appreciates art. And although she doesn’t have quite as many creative juices as George, she can draw a picture by looking at it. Create? Nope. Copy? Sure thing!

Not only do we complement each other in business, but our marriage is like one big puzzle piece helping the other become something meaningful.
